It's not too early to starting thinking about butterflies...

2010 International Butterfly Show: Butterflies of Japan

This year, Japan is showcased, a country rich in beauty and heritage. Cultural groups such as the Japan America Society, the Bonsai Society of Greater Cincinnati and the Sogetsu Ikebana Society will contribute to the process of design and development of events. Prestigious Japanese institutions like Tama Zoo (Japan National Zoo) and Adachi Museum of Living Things provide support for ongoing development of new exhibit species of butterflies as well as a new display on Insects as Pets. The Cincinnati Zoo has also joined our efforts by collaborating on the care and development of these new insect displays.

For the first time ever, the show will be divided into three distinct time frames that celebrate the arrival of a very special butterfly and a floral change out that mimics a change of seasons.

Sakura: April 17 – May 11
Tanabata: May 12– June 1
Otsukimi: June 2 – June 20
